A Bold Vision for County’s Scenic Future

Scenic Walton is pleased to announce the appointment of Anthony J. Vallee as its new President. A licensed architect, respected civic leader, and transportation advocate, Vallee brings both design expertise and a deep understanding of regional planning to the organization at a critical moment for Walton County in terms of growth management and infrastructure needs.

Vallee’s extensive public service includes time as a DeFuniak Springs City Councilman and leadership roles as Chairman of the Okaloosa–Walton Transportation Planning Organization and as a member of the Walton County Transportation Advisory Committee. His unique ability to balance smart development with scenic preservation makes him a natural fit to lead Scenic Walton’s mission to enhance the county’s roadways and public spaces.

“Anthony has the vision, experience, and community trust needed to guide Scenic Walton into its next chapter,” said Roger Hall, former president. “His leadership in regional transportation planning and his commitment to preserving the character of our scenic corridors will be an asset to every resident and visitor.”

Among Vallee’s notable achievements is his instrumental role in the approval and planning of the West DeFuniak Linear Park project, a transformational project that Scenic Walton is playing a critical role in. This park will bring pedestrian connectivity, recreational opportunities, and landscaped green space to one of the city’s most vital corridors. “Anthony brought a visionary perspective and focused execution to the City of DeFuniak regarding pedestrian and cyclist infrastructure, among other things,” said Leigh Moore, Scenic Walton Executive Director. “As we continue to grow our mission work in central and northern Walton, we are thrilled to have a well-respected leader from DeFuniak Springs as our president.”

“I’m honored to take on this role with Scenic Walton,” said Vallee. “With thoughtful planning, we can preserve our scenic charm and safety while preparing responsibly for growth.”
