TAKE ACTION: Protect Our Trees from Clear Cutting for Billboard Visibility!

Tell Congress to Protect Publicly Owned Trees

There is currently no federal prohibition of vegetation removal or tree cutting on public rights-of-way for the purpose of enhancing the view of billboards. In fact, 35 states allow billboard companies to cut and remove publicly owned trees growing alongside our federal highways on publicly owned land merely to increase the visibility of commercial billboards. Beyond destroying healthy trees, this irresponsible action mars scenic roadways, contributes to soil erosion, and damages property values by removing noise and pollution barriers, exposing homes directly to highway traffic.

Sign our petition to urge Congress to take action to include protections for publicly owned trees on right-of-ways!
