We are excited that this project we initiated is in full swing to save the trees at Grady Brown Park. At our urging, Commissioner McCormick asked the Board of County Commissioners to allocate funding to hire an arborist to evaluate the trees and establish a recovery program. The board approved the request unanimously.
Through a bid process the county hired SavATree, a licensed and accredited tree, shrub and lawn care company that provides landscape stewardship to residential, commercial and municipal properties. SavATree began the process of pruning viable trees and removing dead trees in late March and are undertaking actions to improve the health of the trees through soil amendments as well. SavATree feels that many of the trees can be saved.
We will keep you updated as the process unfolds over the next 12 months.
