Take action to protect Pittsburgh’s North Shore

Pittsburgh’s scenic beauty and community character are at risk. A proposed city ordinance before the City Council would allow an unlimited number of giant LED advertising signs — up to 50 feet tall and 2,500 square feet in size — throughout the North Shore District. These changeable LED signs would be visible from downtown and Mount Washington, and they would be allowed to operate day and night, functioning like electronic billboards.

This proposal would introduce excessive light pollution, visual blight, and significant distractions for drivers — all while undermining the scenic views that make Pittsburgh special.
