TAKE ACTION: Tell North Carolina to Put Trees Before Billboards!

Don’t Wait! Send a Letter Today!

Buried in a transportation bill making its way through the North Carolina Senate is language that would allow billboard companies to double the amount of land they clearcut in front of signs. It would also allow the cutting of native redbuds, which are currently protected. Finally, it overrides local tree-protection ordinances related to relocated billboards.

Please take action today to save the scenic beauty of North Carolina’s highways. The trees that line them belong to the public and benefit our communities. They should be protected, not sacrificed for distracting and ugly signage. Tell your senator to remove this harmful language from the bill.

The bill will be voted on Wednesday, May 8! Use our form below to send a message to your NC senator demanding that they put trees before billboards in North Carolina!
