Los Angeles PLUM Committee Approves Measure to Allow 56 New Advertising Structures on the Public Right of Way

Despite widespread public opposition and no opportunities for public discourse or input, nor any traffic safety studies or an Environmental Impact Report, the PLUM Committee voted June 21, 2022, to approve a measure allowing 56 new advertising structures on the public right-of-way for the Metro Transit Communications Network program.

Members of the committee moved to write the ordinance allowing this intrusion on public roads without any discussion or response to the public comments made during the meeting or submitted in advance.

Scenic Los Angeles urges residents to contact their elected officials to demand that this program not move forward without safety studies, environmental impact studies, and opportunities for public comment and engagement.
