As Scenic America prepares to celebrate its 30th anniversary, we are pleased to announce, in collaboration with Scenic America, our new strategic plan, which seeks to influence the future of our great state. Phase One of this historic effort, our first major gift fundraising appeal in more than 25 years, anticipates raising a minimum of $750,000 to facilitate growth focusing on three priorities:
1. Challenging billboard blight on both the local and state levels
2. Advocating for beautification of I-70, Missouri’s Main Street, during its expected rebuild over the next 5-10 years
3. Promoting the Ozark Run Scenic Byway and other routes worthy of scenic byway designation such as Highway 94 in the Missouri River Country
To date, pledges totaling $197,000, ranging from $1,000 to Jan and Peter Herschend’s $100,000 challenge pledge have been received.
Bottom line: Scenic Missouri’s mission is unique and critical to the future of our state. We invite you to partner with us as we work to reclaim and protect Missouri’s endangered scenic heritage.
