Since 2008, we’ve led the fight for scenic beauty in Walton County.

Scenic Walton was formed in 2008 by a dedicated group of business owners and residents. Scenic Walton is a 501c(3) non-profit that works with the community and elected officials to preserve the natural beauty of Walton County, while also increasing pedestrian and cyclist safety.

What We Do

Scenic Walton focuses our work on actions like landscaping the medians along our commercial corridors; championing the undergrounding of overhead utilities and minimizing the visual impact of cellular infrastructure; promoting the expansion of pedestrian and cycling facilities; removing litter from public spaces; advocating for context-sensitive development; and challenging the uncontrolled spread of billboards and signage. These steps will enhance our environmental and economic progress, including tourism while promoting health and quality of life.

Pedstrian Safety

Scenic Walton has played an instrumental role in the $5.6 million Inlet Beach underpass project, from helping secure its funding to leading the way on beautification efforts.

Utility Undergrounding

We believe it is one of the most important initiatives a city or county or state can pursue to make their communities more resilient to storms and other disasters, protect citizens and wildlife from the risks of overhead utilities, allow for the planting of more trees along roadways, and make places more beautiful without the intrusiveness of overhead poles and wires.
