Scenic Advocacy. We are a voice for scenic beauty, testifying to the importance of visual character in our public spaces. We monitor federal, state, and local policies that affect the visual character of North Carolina. We also monitor local ordinances and community trends such as illegal tree cutting along roadways.
Scenic Education. We aim to educate the public about the latest happenings and trends in scenic beauty, including legislation and policies that threaten North Carolina’s scenic character.
Scenic Byways. National Scenic Byways designations recognize those roads across the country that exhibit scenic, natural, historic, recreational, archaeological, or cultural significance. We work to recognize, protect, and promote this valuable program.
Beautification. We support initiatives to beautify our public spaces and roadways, such as tree and wildflower plantings.
Environmental Justice. We are committed to advancing the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, or income with respect to the development, implementation and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations and policies.
