About Scenic Los Angeles

Established in 1986, Scenic Los Angeles (formerly the Coalition to Ban Billboard Blight) is the only organization dedicated to advocating for the betterment of the visual environment of the greater Los Angeles area.  As a chapter of Scenic America, a national organization founded in 1982, we believe our scenic resources should be valued and treated like other inherited treasures, as finite and irreplaceable, to be cherished and passed on to future generations.

We assert that beauty is good for business.  How a community looks impacts how people feel about visiting, working, or living in it.  This message resonates and we are fast becoming a change agent for the Los Angeles County.  By providing guidance in scenic preservation, we enable communities to prioritize scenic quality and to recognize local beauty as a valuable, shared resource.
